Just before 11pm on Wednesday October 12, 2022, in Bristol, Connecticut, the small city next to the town I live in, a horrific tragedy happened. There are no words to describe the sadness and heartbreak in my community.
By morning what happened hit the local, state and national news. 34-year-old Bristol police officer Alex Hamzy and Sgt. Dustin DeMonte, 35 were killed and 26-year-old Officer Alec Iurato was injured
The healing and grief could take up to eternity.

“Bristol Police Heroes Fund” has been established through the Bristol Police Union at Thomaston Savings Bank to support the families. Donations are currently being accepted at all branches and additional donation opportunities will be forthcoming
